CHEZ TERRY'S NEWSLETTER ISSUE # 11 - October 2005

2006 DOG & CAT
CALENDARS ARE COMING SOON! CHECK OUT OUR SELECTION

For those of you that have read a portion of this, my apologies but we forgot to actually print off a copy for the stores! So only you lucky ones that get computer delivery got it hot off the press!

FAIRFIELD PLAZA DAY

Once again, The Fairfield Plaza Day was a huge success and the turnout was wonderful. Of course, scoring a perfect weather day (except for that small shower in the morning!) was a huge help.

Over $500.00 was raised for the BC Cancer Foundation and they were just thrilled. I'm glad to say that I did make it for the cake cutting (Vanessa - miss free cake - I don't think so!) and enjoyed meeting everyone.

FAIRFIELD PHOTO CONTEST

There were many wonderful pictures on display and I hope many of you managed to drop and vote for your favourites! Sadly, the winning picture didn't have a name or number but here's a list:

  1st Prize overall: #39
(Dachshund in a hot dog bun -   no name so no prize)

Best Loved Cat:
(Spine India Water)
Best Loved Dog:
(Loki)
Best Dressed - a Tie! #20 and #21
(Nancy for 21 & Janet for #20)

I hope everyone has been in to pick up their prizes. Terry has them set aside. Again, sorry if there is any confusion about the prizes but people didn't leave names or numbers on some of their pictures.

Check out our web site for the information that was available to ensure your pet is safe in an emergency.

The winners will be featured on our web site: www.chezterry.com(check out the winners from the photo contest at Cadboro Bay during the summer!).

Also, congratulations to Cathy Fraser who won a special Chez Terry's Gift Basket full of goodies.

SAFETY AND YOUR PET

At Chez Terry's, we are committed to ensuring your pet is safe at night and in the cold weather. It is important to remember that when you're walking your dog, you should have some sort of light, reflective colour, vest or leash.

You can find a large variety of items in our stores to ensure you and your dog are visible at night. We have red or white flashing collars; flashing lights that hang from the collar; reflective cuffs; safety vests; reflective collars and with matching leashes. Most of our coats also have reflective strips.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU

Are there any issues or items you would like us to look into? Let the staff in the store know and Vanessa will do her best to 'get the dirt!'

UPDATE ON VANESSA

It's been a while since I updated all of my friends at Chez Terry's so I thought I'd take a few minutes now. I'm on a new drug - Tarceva and somehow managed to get on the plan to get it paid for (at $2800 for 30 tablets, that's good news!).

Having wonderful times with my son and am still in a fighting mood. I now also have cancer of the ottoman (apron of the stomach) and I have to go get drained (otherwise I look like I'm giving birth to elephants!). My lung is stable.

I have wonderful friends, family and I have gained a lot of strength from all the good wishes that my friends from Chez Terry's have been giving to me. I wish I could get out to Cadboro Bay more often and will try - promise!
