It's hard to believe we've already been open a year! We invite all our customers - new and old - to come to the Cadboro Bay Store on the 14th or 15th of May and help us celebrate!
Eagle Pack Holistic Natural Pet Food will have a display on Saturday. Grab a cup of coffee from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and talk with the rep and the rest of our staff - Tony, Kristina and Vanessa. The celebration will continue on Sunday, same time.
We will have prizes to be won, and watch out for the coupons for Eagle Pack Food. They will be in the May 11th Saanich News. Coupons will be valid until mid June and will entitle you to buy a 6.6lb or larger bag of any variety cat food and get a 3lb bag free. Buy a 33lb of any variety dog food and get a 6.6lb bag free.

Remember, this is the weekend of the CADBORO BAY STUDIO TOUR. There are maps in the store to let you know where to visit local artists. It takes place both days, from 1:00pm until 5:00pm.
ADVICE FROM TERRY
As the warm weather approaches, we need to remember that our animals shouldn't always travel with us. However, if you do have to take your pet with you, here are some tips to ensure your pet doesn't suffer from heat exhaustion.
- Always try and park in the shade or with at least a portion of the vehicle shaded.
- Have a blanket like the Soggy Dog Car blanket for the pet to stay on and another one that can be soaked in case of heat exhaustion.
- Ensure you have a water supply. There are many varieties of dishes/travel sets that work wonderfully, including non-spill ones (and they're all on sale this month!).
- Open ALL your windows at least 4" so that the air circulates. We also carry Automobile Pet Vents that fit snuggly into your window.

- We also sell a handy fan that plugs into your vehicle's cigarette lighter - the K9 Kooler.
Bottom line - check the temperature before you go out. A good rule of thumb is 21º - any hotter and the animal could suffer.
At home, ensure that you have a good water supply available at all times. The 'Fresh Flow System' comes in two sizes for either cats or dogs (and is on sale this month). Outside, there is a handy attachment that fits on your outside tap that your dog can activate by licking it - their own watering system!
